How to Make Dal Tadka

  1. Pressure cook toor dal with turmeric, salt, 3 cups water — 3 whistles.
  2. In a pan, heat 1 tbsp ghee. Add onion, green chilli, sauté 2 mins. Add tomato, cook till soft.
  3. Add cooked dal, simmer 5 mins. Adjust salt and water.
  4. For tadka: heat 1 tbsp ghee, add cumin, garlic, dry red chilli, red chilli powder. Pour over dal.
  5. Garnish with coriander. Serve with rice and papad.
