Roti Recipe
Soft phulka roti — the everyday Indian bread. The key is kneading the dough till smooth, resting, and cooking on high flame.
Ingredients
- 2 cups atta (whole wheat flour)
- 3/4 cup warm water (approx)
- 1 tsp oil
- Salt to taste (optional)
- Ghee for brushing (optional)
How to Make Roti
- Mix atta with water and oil. Knead 8 mins till smooth and elastic. Rest 20 mins covered.
- Divide into 10 balls. Roll each into 6-inch round on lightly floured surface.
- Heat tawa on medium-high. Place roti, cook 20 secs till bubbles appear.
- Flip, cook 30 secs till brown spots form. Flip again, press with cloth — roti puffs up.
- Brush with ghee. Stack in hot pot. Serve with any curry.
